It was a glorious day for a hanging
The villagers gathered around
Didnt matter that i was not guilty
And the weapon was never found

You could see the cold ice in their gazes
Blood was the main entree
And the vampires just shook in their places
Waiting for the hangman to say:

Who everyone knew as the mother of pearl

But my words fell like fire on ice
There was no use in begging for mercy

So i closed both my eyes and remembered
The happiest thing i could find

And then i began to pray
And when i had almost forgave them
I heard them all start to say:
